Non-CDL Driver Opportunity

Hamilton Connections is looking for a non-CDL driver for a distributor in Waterbury, CT. This is a temp-to-perm position. The non-CDL driver is responsible for day-to-day warehouse functions and driving a box truck to deliver products in a timely, safe and professional manner. Candidates must have and maintain a clean driving record. The hours are 5 a.m. until finished, Monday-Friday. The salary is $21 an hour.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare truck for operation by assisting in and overseeing the loading of trucks, securing of items, and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers
• Drive company box truck to deliver orders to our branches and/or our customers' sites, which includes unloading products
• Document delivery, accuracy and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives; report any discrepancies to company
• Follow route manifest set by delivery manager
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections, fuel the truck as needed, and report any problems or issues to supervisor
• Comply with all Department of Transportation standards and regulations
• Assist warehouse personnel with preparing orders for shipment as needed, as well as receiving, and verifying incoming material
• Properly track and document activity log; keep records on the use or damage of stock or stock-handling equipment
• Deliver outstanding customer service and build professional relationships by treating customers and colleagues in a friendly and respectful manner
• Maintain a safe driving record free of violations

Job Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• At least 2 years of related work experience
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have a valid DOT medical card or be able to obtain one
• Clean driving record free of accidents and moving violations
• Able to handle physical aspects of the job, including standing or sitting for long periods, getting in and out of truck, and lifting to 75-100 lbs.
• Warehouse operations and logistics experience
• Strong communication skills
• Be a good team player and maintain good attendance
