Cnc / manual machinist

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established union machine shop in Hauppauge, NY that is seeking an experienced CNC / Manual Machinist. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with programming abilities and hands-on experience with both lathes and mills to join a stable, high-quality manufacturing environment. Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines, including lathes and mills
• Perform manual machining operations using engine lathes and vertical/horizontal mills
• Program CNC machines (G-code and/or conversational programming)
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materials
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
• Maintain tight tolerances and ensure high-quality standards
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Follow all shop safety protocols and union work rules
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production deadlines
