Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural and Miscellaneous Steel Field Welder to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in field welding, particularly with STICK techniques on stainless and miscellaneous steel. As a field welder/ironworker, you will primarily install prefabricated materials on-site.

Responsibilities

• Use instruments for precise layout.

• Perform structural steel installation.

• Install miscellaneous metals.

• Install conveyors, dryers, and other material handling equipment.

• Install equipment and piping in Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants.

• Field verify dimensions and perform field fabrication and fitting.

• Work at heights using man lifts and other equipment.

• Be willing to work some weekends as needed for client shutdowns.

• Travel for out-of-town jobs as needed.

Essential Skills

• Three to five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Proficiency in fabrication, MIG welding, STICK welding, fitting, and fabrication.

• Ability to read and comprehend basic drawings, instructions, safety procedures, and memos.

• Basic shop math skills.

• Ability to read tape measures.

• Problem-solving skills for practical situations.

• Ability to interpret various instructions provided in different formats.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with stainless steel and structural steel.

• Ability to communicate effectively with other employees.

• Capability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables.

Work Environment

This role involves working in outdoor and facility environments that can be cold in the winter and very hot in the summer. The job requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, and moving about facilities. Employees must be able to lift and move up to 75 pounds, with assistance and appropriate equipment when necessary. Vision abilities needed include close, distance, and peripheral vision. The physical demands are consistent with ADA, FMLA, and other standards, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
