Our client, a family-owned manufacturing company in Northeast San Antonio is looking for a Forklift Mechanic for a long term, evaluation-hire opportunity. Pay is $22-$28 an hour depending on experience. The company is looking for someone to become part of the family. It's a great opportunity to join a close-knit community. The job requires inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing routine to extensive maintenance on all types of forklift trucks, including electric, gas, and propane-powered models. Performs maintenance and repairs on other heavy equipment used throughout the facility as needed. Duties for the Forklift Mechanic position include:

Inspects forklift truck fleet to ensure trucks are working properly and safely
Repairs and maintains various types of forklift trucks including electric, gas-powered, and propane powered.
Schedules and completes routine maintenance for forklift trucks.
Removes unsafe equipment from facility operating area and notifies supervisor.
Tests forklift trucks to ensure repairs are completed correctly.
Ensures batteries for electric forklift trucks are fully charged.
Maintains repair log for forklift truck fleet.
Small engine repair such as golf carts and other related vehicles.
Hydraulics knowledge and be able to work "outside the box"

Requirements for the Forklift Mechanic position are:

Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and capable of accessing all parts of the forklift truck needing repairs or maintenance, either by kneeling or lying on back
Ability to use hand and power tools to repair forklift trucks.
Ability to read repair manuals for various types of forklift trucks.
Excellent mechanical repair skills.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
