Forklift Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Mechanic to join our distribution team. The Forklift Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining forklifts and other material-handling equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations across the facility. This role is critical to supporting warehouse productivity and minimizing equipment downtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and scheduled inspections on forklifts and related equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and carry out necessary repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair logs, and parts inventory.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
• Repair engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ensure all equipment meets safety and compliance standards.
• Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to prioritize urgent repairs and minimize downtime.
• Assist with maintenance of other material-handling equipment (pallet jacks, order pickers, etc.) as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a forklift mechanic or in heavy equipment repair.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to safety practices and compliance.

Work Environment

This position operates in a busy, non-climate controlled warehouse/distribution environment. Employees should be comfortable with physical requirements such as lifting up to 50 lbs., standing, bending, and working in tight spaces for extended periods.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $76960.00/yr.
