Pipefitter

Join our team as a Pipefitter, where you will be working at a steel fabricator performing essential fitting duties. Your role will involve structural steel fitting, flux core welding, and pipefitting tasks. A crucial part of this position is the ability to read a tape measure to the 1/16th of an inch and lift up to 50 pounds. You will also engage in tack welding and other related tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Perform structural steel fitting and pipefitting duties.
• Execute flux core welding tasks.
• Read and interpret tape measures accurately to the 1/16th of an inch.
• Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Conduct tack welding as required.

Essential Skills:

• 1-2 years of experience in structural steel fitting and pipefitting.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading and welding techniques including flux core, MIG, and TIG welding.
• Experience with stainless steel, structural steel, and carbon steel.
• Ability to use hand tools and read blueprints effectively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience with sheet metal, pulse MIG, and aluminum welding.
• Familiarity with mechanical and AWS standards.

Work Environment:

Work hours are Monday to Thursday from 6am to 4:30pm, and Friday from 5am to 1pm, with occasional Saturday shifts from 5am to 1pm. The role is based in a steel fabrication facility where safety and precision are key. Dress appropriately for an industrial setting.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, SC.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
