Diesel Truck Mechanic

Job Description

We are hiring a Diesel Truck Mechanic to join a wellestablished fleet shop in Mount Pleasant, SC. This role focuses on bumpertobumper diagnostics and repair of Class 8 trucks in a teamoriented environment. Technicians will work with modern diagnostic tools and OEM software while maintaining detailed electronic work orders through shop software.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Class 8 diesel trucks in a safe and efficient manner
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM services) and annual inspections
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, air brakes, steering, and suspension
• Work on engines, emissions/aftertreatment systems, and HVAC components
• Utilize JPro diagnostics and OEM software to complete repairs and document work
• Accurately apply parts and notes to electronic work orders
• Support team members when needed and accept support when learning new systems
• Follow all safety policies and shop procedures

Required Skills & Experience

• Diesel engine diagnostics and repair experience
• Experience working on Class 8 tractors (6cylinder diesel engines)
• Knowledge of electrical diagnostics and preventive maintenance
• Familiarity with air brake and air systems
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OEM software (Cummins, Detroit, Volvo, etc.)
• Aftertreatment and emissions systems experience
• Internal engine knowledge
• Steering and suspension repair experience

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Pleasant, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
