What You'll Do:
- Load rolls of paper onto automatic splicing units of web offset or Gravure printing presses, ensuring smooth starts for high-quality printing.
- Inspect rolls for blemishes or tears, skillfully cutting away damaged sections to maintain pristine materials.
- Prepare and secure rolls into splicing equipment, threading paper through press components with precision.
- Apply adhesive strips to backup rolls and manage automatic splicing to facilitate efficient press operation.
- Remove leftover paper rolls post-splicing and assist with press make-ready procedures, including hanging plates, examining plates, prepping blankets, and adjusting tension.
- Maintain press cleanliness by cleaning press components and ensuring operational readiness.
- Operate mechanical trucks when needed to transport rolls and support overall press logistics.
