Job Title: CNC Programmer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming from print, setting up, and operating Multi-Axis CNC lathes, utilizing live tooling and machines using Mazatrol conversational programming. You will be a direct support to our CNC supervisor and assume this role in their absence. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional precision machining services.

Responsibilities

• Program from print using Mazatrol by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.

• Calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

• Do own setups and produce quality parts from technical drawings with minimal supervision.

• Plan machining by studying detailed/complex blueprints and work orders; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD & T).

• Set up lathes by installing and adjusting three and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, and stops.

• Verify settings by measuring positions, first run part, and sample work pieces; perform buddy checks.

• Support CNC Lathe team through programming, verifying setups, and buddy checks.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong understanding of CNC programming and operation, particularly with Mazatrol and Fanuc systems.

• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.

• Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, and calipers.

• Ability to lead others.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of milling machines and power tools is preferred.

Work Environment

Work in a climate-controlled environment. This position operates on the 1st shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loves Park, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
