Plant Mechanic

MOR PPM Inc. is looking for plant mechanics in Aiken, SC. The Plant Mechanic will perform as a skilled mechanic in the constant improvement of maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment. Must be willing to work rotating shifts and be subject to overtime. Mechanics will practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures; comply with all costumer rules and safety procedures and policies. Properly diagnose, replace or repair parts of equipment utilizing appropriate tooling, equipment and material to accomplish maintenance functions including but not limited to the following: inspections, troubleshooting, repairing, fabricating, removing and replacing components on equipment. Must be able to solve problems by studying drawings, and technical publications if necessary. Tobacco free facility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for the constant improvement, fabrication, and repair of tire manufacturing equipment.

Qualifications

Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. Possess the ability to use the English language to communicate (both verbally and in writing) accurately and concisely on technical matters to external and internal customers. Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings. Have a valid driver's license. Experienced in industrial maintenance work. Ability to work independently. Basic computer skills. Basic electrical skills. Have a complete set of a mechanic's tools appropriate for maintenance and repair (company will provide access to specialized tools). Ability to demonstrate proficiency in all the above areas.

Preferred Experience

• 3+ years PM and industrial or commercial repair experience
• 2 to 3 years metal fabrication experience is a plus
• Technical school training or degree is a plus
• PLC experience is a plus
• Welding experience is a plus
