Skilled Carpenters $22-$28/hour (Based on Experience)

Location: Cedar Rapids, IA

Schedule: MondayFriday | 6:30 AM 4:00 PM

Travel: Local approximately 85% of work in Cedar Rapids

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Carpenter to join a reputable and growing general construction company based in the Cedar Rapids area. This role will work on new construction and remodeling projects, supporting a variety of commercial and public-sector builds.

Work includes:

• Steel stud framing
• Hanging and installing doors and windows
• Casework and cabinet installation
• Hardware installation
• General commercial carpentry tasks

Current Projects

• West Cedar Rapids City Library
• St. Ludmila Church
• Marion Parkview
• Cascade Library
• South Tama Middle School

Project Specialties

• Banks
• Churches
• Public projects (libraries, recreation centers, fire stations, interstate rest stops, etc.)

Qualifications

• Must have 23 years of residential carpentry experience or 2+ years of commercial carpentry experience (Framing, doors & windows, trim, hardware, etc.)
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to read a tape measure

Work Environment

• Commercial construction job sites including schools, gyms, churches, restaurants, warehouses, and convenience stores
• Small to medium-sized new builds, remodels, and additions
• Multiple contractors working on-site
• Physically active workexpect dust, dirt, and outdoor elements (mostly indoor during winter)

Schedule & Expectations

• MondayFriday, 6:30 AM4:00 PM
• Minimal weekends, if any
• Meet at the shop each morning
  • Company trucks depart at 6:29 AM sharp
  • Employees must arrive 1015 minutes early or risk being left behind

Company Culture

• Approximately 55 total employees, with 35 field employees
• Typically working in pairs on job sites
• Team-oriented, hands-on environment

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
