Concrete Laborer - Entry Level

Join our dynamic team to work on prepping and pouring concrete across commercial, agricultural, and residential settings. You will be part of a team performing general construction labor from the start to the finish of projects. This role involves quickly learning and assisting in all aspects of projects, operating various construction and concrete tools, and handling materials. You should be capable of lifting, carrying, or pulling up to 50 pounds or more of material while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and pour concrete in various settings.
• Perform general construction labor tasks from project initiation to completion.
• Learn and assist in different facets of projects quickly.
• Operate construction and concrete tools and handle materials.
• Lift, carry, or pull up to 50 pounds of material.

Essential Skills

• Experience in concrete, construction, and concrete finishing.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Competency in reading a tape measure.
• 1+ year of construction experience in any trade, with a preference for concrete.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Ability to pass a pre-hire drug screen.
• Strong listening and comprehension skills to follow directions.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing assignments.
• Dedicated and reliable work ethic.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

The work hours are from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with very rare weekend work. We strive to maintain a 50-hour work week. You will be part of a team with four crews of four laborers, totaling 16-20 field employees. Our foremen are experienced construction professionals, so candidates should be prepared for a straightforward work environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dyersville, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
