The Mission As the 2nd Operator, you are the "Co-Pilot" of a high-performance printing press. You'll partner with the 1st Operator to ensure every sheet is flawless and every color is vibrant.

Your Day-to-Day:

• Precision Control: Monitoring color, register, and copy for customer-perfect quality.
• The "Pit Crew" Routine: Prepping materials, washing blankets, installing new plates, and filling ink fountains for seamless job changeovers.
• Troubleshooting: Identifying printing hiccups and making on-the-fly adjustments.
• Maintenance: Assisting with monthly PMs (greasing, oiling, and roller changes) to keep the facility world-class.

What You Bring to the Table

• Experience: Previous Feeder or Operator experience is a must. You know your way around a press.
• The Mindset: Mechanical aptitude and basic computer skills.
• The Stamina: Comfort with a physical role-lifting up to 40 lbs solo and managing the 12-hour shift demands.
• The Eye: Acute color vision. If a shade is slightly off, you're the first to see it.

Responsibilities

• To assist Press - 1st Operator with maintaining quality of printed sheets. Examine for proper color, register, copy, position and detect unnecessary markings per the Printing Department Control Plan.
• To assist the Press - 1st Operator with determining the cause of printing problems and adjust press to correct these issues.
• Responsible to assist in the maintenance of the press. Keep water tank, ink fountain and blanket wash units full.
• Responsible to assist crew in press-make readies by:
• Preparing materials needed for new printing job.
• Assisting with cleaning of press. Wash blankets, clean and rinse fountain rollers. Clean dampening rollers.
• Remove old plates, install new plates and fill ink fountains.
• Responsible for performing duties of Press - 1st Operator or Feeder when needed in order to keep press running.
• Assist with monthly Preventative Maintenance which includes cleaning, greasing and oiling the press. Rollers are changed when necessary.
