Job Description

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Pipe Laborer to join our Water Main Crew. This position supports daily installation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution systems. The ideal candidate is comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, performing physically demanding tasks, and collaborating closely with an experienced utility crew.

This role includes participating in an on-call rotation every 3 weeks to respond to emergency water main breaks and after-hours service needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, repair, and replacement of water mains, valves, hydrants, and service lines.

• Excavate and backfill trenches using hand tools and power tools as directed.

• Support pipe fitting and pipe laying activities, including measuring, cutting, and aligning pipe sections.

• Operate small equipment such as compactors, cut-off saws, and jackhammers.

• Maintain clean and organized work sites, ensuring safe work practices at all times.

• Flag or direct traffic around job sites when necessary.

• Perform routine maintenance and inspection of tools and equipment.

• Respond to emergency calls during assigned on-call weeks (every 3 weeks).

Qualifications

• Previous experience in construction, utility work, or general labor preferred (willing to train motivated candidates).

• Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding conditions.

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform manual labor for extended periods.

• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation required.

• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albrightsville, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00/hr.
