GROUNDS II MECHANIC

• We are hiring immediately for a full time GROUNDS II MECHANIC position.
• Location: TAMU - 1001 Texas Clipper Road, Galveston, TX 77554. (Openings at other locations within school district available) Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full time schedule; Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. More details upon interview. (Full and Part Time with the flexibility to meet most scheduling needs)
• Requirement: Prior experience with electric motors, changing blades and tires, and small engines.
• Pay Range: $18.00 per hour to $22.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary: Repairs and performs preventative maintenance on all types of landscape equipment and vehicles in and around the maintenance shop yard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manages inspection and repair work order system.
• Maintains repair and maintenance records for all company equipment, vehicles, trailers and tools.
• Ensures that all vehicles, trailer and equipment inspection reports are completed according to the Company policy and all applicable federal/state/local requirements.
• Schedules repairs and preventative maintenance though the existing work order system.
• Coordinates with shop manager to prioritize projects.
• Coordinates with shop manager to complete periodic yard and asset inspections to ensure cleanliness and compliance in shop and yard.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Five years of experience in mechanical repair of landscape related equipment with emphasis on managing multiple technicians.

Working Conditions:

• Exposure to: strenuous labor for extended periods of time, heavy equipment, hazardous construction zones and work sites, extreme weather conditions, paint and petroleum products. Work time expectation, 90% of time will be physical labor, 10% training and misc.
