Laser Machine Operator

Job Title: Machine Setup and Operator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Machine Setup and Operator to work in our machining area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating machines, reading blueprints, and using measuring tools to ensure quality and adherence to standards. This role involves working with sheet metal, cutting, and assembly tasks. While experience with laser cutting machines is a plus, training is available.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machinery according to blueprints.

• Use measuring tools to maintain quality and standards.

• Perform sheet metal work, cutting, and assembly.

• Complete offsets during the setup of new job orders.

• Troubleshoot machines when necessary.

• Assist in other areas when not busy.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Experience with press brake, fabrication, punch press, and laser cutting.

• Proficiency in working with sheet metal and fiber laser.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in laser cutting is a plus.

• Background in fabrication.

Work Environment

Work primarily involves standing, bending, and being on your feet. The facility is located in Byron Center, MI, with potential tasks at a warehouse in Muskegon. The climate is comfortable and typical of a manufacturing floor, yet well organized. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30 AM to 3 PM, with possible shifts from 5:30 AM to 4 PM as needed. Mileage and drive time compensation are provided for trips to Muskegon.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Byron Center, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
