Refrigeration Mechanic

Job Title: Refrigeration MechanicJob Description
As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will work on refrigeration units installed on trailers, specifically cold storage units on tractor trailers used for the distribution of cold products. Your duties will include performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and ensuring the efficient operation of these units.
Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration units.
• Work with HVAC units and AC systems in vehicles.
• Conduct electrical work and troubleshooting.
• Use schematics and blueprints for repair and maintenance tasks.
• Ensure the functionality and efficiency of refrigeration and diesel systems.

Essential Skills

• Experience with HVAC units and vehicle AC systems.
• Electrical and refrigeration knowledge.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• General mechanical knowledge.
• Troubleshooting skills in automotive repair and HVAC electrical systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Thermo King units is highly desirable.
• Basic hand tools are required, such as wrenches, sockets, and hand drills.

Work Environment
Work in an outdoor shop environment that varies from hot to cold depending on the season. The role includes a Monday to Friday schedule from 7 am to 5 pm, with rotating Saturday shifts from 7 am to 12 pm. Specialty hand tools needed for units will be provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr.
