Job Posting: Manual Machinist

Location: Lockport

Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Paid 20-minute lunch & 10-minute break)

Pay: $25 - $35 per hour (Company covers 50% of benefits upon hire)

Family owned shop is seeking a Manual Machinist to join our team! This is a fast-paced role focused on one-off repairs-no production work. The ideal candidates will be skilled in precision machining, flexible with ongoing rush jobs, and committed to quality craftsmanship.
Responsibilities:

Perform one-off repairs including polishing, welding, and cutting threads/tapers
Work with manual mills, manual lathes, and vertical boring mills
Complete own setup and basic programming - must be able to write your own program
Safely operate overhead cranes
Work with stainless steel, alloy, steel, and plastic
Ensure high-quality repairs in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

Experience as a Manual Machinist
Strong math skills for precise measurements
Ability to work independently and manage setups
Knowledge of basic programming (for CNC role)
Flexibility to handle rush jobs and shifting priorities
Experience working with various metals and plastics
Ability to operate overhead cranes safely
