CDL B Truck Operator

POSITION SUMMARY: As a CDL B Truck Operator, you will take on the crucial role of safely operating a collection truck to deliver prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services to our valued customers. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that your vehicle meets all safety standards, complying with Company and regulatory guidelines, and completing daily vehicle condition reports (VCRs) to address any issues quickly.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct thorough pre-and post-operation inspections of your vehicle to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, and controls function properly. Report any safety concerns through standard forms.
• Safely navigate your designated route and to disposal sites, using route sheets and maps to service each customer effectively.
• Utilize manual and automatic controls conforming to Company safety protocols for lifting and loading refuse, operating the compactor, and disposing of materials at designated facilities.
• Engage courteously with customers, dispatchers, and colleagues daily, ensuring timely and professional service delivery.
• Tag unsatisfactory waste containers per departmental procedures and alert the team to any unacceptable waste.
• Monitor waste for degradation and cleanliness around spills, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Consistency is key; regularly check your vehicle to maintain operational readiness while ensuring cleanliness from waste and debris.
• Complete required reports, including route/productivity sheets and VCRs.
• Adhere to productivity standards ensuring all customer requests are addressed swiftly and efficiently.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures diligently.
• Actively participate in the Company's ReSOP program to foster safety and efficiency.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.
• Exhibit excellent customer service skills, consistently meeting and exceeding expectations with professionalism and cooperation.
• Manage time effectively to fulfill assigned responsibilities safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrate strong follow-through, honoring work schedules, and addressing challenges as they arise.
• Adhere to Company policies, promoting safety standards while avoiding unnecessary risks.
• Take pride in your work, striving to achieve all operational goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License with an air brakes endorsement.

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday; Start time between 4:00 AM - 5:30 AM based on routing needs; may include mixed routes for small containers and residential waste.
