Maintenance Technician

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of maintenance processes and equipment, with a focus on preventative maintenance and electrical systems. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes through effective equipment management.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment used in the manufacturing process.
• Install and maintain manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct equipment inspections and troubleshoot any issues.
• Perform machine installations, modifications, and fabrications as necessary.
• Act as the initial contact for maintenance-related production issues during the second shift.

Essential Skills

• Proficient in preventative maintenance and electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of LOTO procedures.
• Experience with electrical systems, including 3 Phase, Single Phase, and DC.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical motors with gearing and belt systems.
• Capability to troubleshoot and repair machinery.
• PLC troubleshooting skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in performing preventative maintenance is a plus.
• Background in electrical maintenance is advantageous.

Work Environment

This role is within a smaller, family-owned and operated company that prioritizes both hard work and accommodating personal family matters. The work schedule includes a 1st Shift from 5 AM to 1 PM and a 2nd Shift from 1 PM to 9 PM. The dress code requires steel toe boots, jeans or work pants without holes, and a t-shirt. Personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection is provided.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
