CNC Operator 1st shift

Job Title: CNC Operator – 1st Shift
Location: Garden City, NY

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to set up and operate CNC and conventional machining equipment to manufacture precision aerospace components. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working to tight tolerances and interpreting technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate vertical and/or horizontal CNC milling machines

• Set up and run conventional milling machines

• Machine detailed parts and final assemblies using engineering drawings and method sheets

• Utilize fixtures and drill jigs to ensure accuracy and consistency

• Perform first-piece inspections to verify conformance to specifications

• Maintain tight tolerances of up to ±0.0005

• Edit CNC programs as needed to optimize performance and accuracy

• Follow all work instructions, setups, and safety procedures

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required

• Minimum of 5 years of CNC and conventional machining experience

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

• Experience with first-piece inspection processes

• Strong understanding of machining methods, setups, and tooling

• Ability to edit CNC programs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks

Pay Details: $26.00 to $35.00 per hour
