Mechanical Engineer (Thermal)

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Thermal to support a growing engineering-driven manufacturing and technology company in Arden Hills, MN. This organization specializes in designing and producing advanced electronic control systems and test platforms for high-power electronics. Their solutions are used in industrial and commercial environments where performance, reliability, and thermal stability are critical-particularly in systems that require precise environmental control and durability under demanding conditions.

This Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in the design and development of thermal management solutions for complex electromechanical systems. Sitting within the Machine Engineering team, this individual will lead efforts related to cooling system design, thermal modeling, and system optimization for burn-in and test platforms. Day to day, they will collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams, support customer-specific design requirements, and drive innovation in thermal system architecture. This role will also involve hands-on prototyping, testing, and validation, while serving as a technical resource for internal teams, customers, and project stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
4+ years of experience in mechanical design and engineering
4+ years experience with heat transfer, thermodynamics, and cooling system design at both system and component levels
Experience supporting or designing thermal solutions for electromechanical systems or high-power electronics
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with refrigeration systems and water chiller design/support
Hands-on experience with CFD tools and thermal modeling
Experience designing and developing electromechanical assemblies
Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD tools
Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing systems
Experience supporting thermal solutions for burn-in systems or test environments
