Facilities Painter - MedStar Georgetown University Hospital - 2nd Shift

Salary: $24.00 to $29.00 per hour

Job Summary

Job Overview: The Painter is responsible for performing high-quality painting and finishing work across multiple hospital locations. This role requires expertise in preparing, painting, and finishing surfaces, including walls, ceilings, and trim, while adhering to hospital safety, hygiene, and infection control standards. The Painter will work closely with the facilities team, including carpenters, maintenance technicians, and superintendents, to ensure that all painting projects are completed on time, with minimal disruption to hospital operations. This position involves the use of technology for managing work orders and requires excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with the Superintendent, Program Manager, team members, and hospital staff.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional painting experience, with a strong preference for experience in healthcare, institutional, or commercial settings.

Skills: Proficiency in a variety of painting techniques, including brushing, rolling, and spraying. Strong knowledge of surface preparation methods and paint application processes. Ability to mix colors and match existing paint finishes with precision. Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple projects and work orders simultaneously.

Certifications: OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred. Infection control certification (such as ICRA) is a plus.
