Service Technician

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing repairs on mobile office trailers, including tasks such as framing, finish carpentry, electrical work, flooring, plumbing, painting, and running gear maintenance. This role involves light carpentry, electrical work, and some HVAC tasks, with no certifications required. You will ensure that proper inventory levels are maintained, keep the work area clean and organized, and practice safe work habits according to company policies. Providing courteous customer service, explaining repairs and services to customers, and ensuring trailers are ready for scheduled delivery are essential aspects of this role.

Responsibilities

• Conduct repairs on mobile office trailers, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing tasks.
• Maintain inventory levels of equipment, tools, and parts needed for service tasks.
• Ensure a clean and organized work environment and practice safety in accordance with company policies.
• Provide customer service over the phone and in person, explaining repairs and services.
• Ensure trailers are ready for scheduled delivery dates.
• Perform service-related tasks in the yard as requested.
• Conduct service calls in assigned branch territories.
• Attend bi-monthly safety meetings.
• Close-up multi-sectional units and ensure doors and windows are shut on idle fleet.
• Assist in ordering materials and unloading deliveries.
• Operate forklifts.
• Perform office maintenance and repair as assigned.
• Conduct system checks and maintenance on HVAC systems according to guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance according to established schedules and procedures.

Essential Skills

• Interest in construction and working with hand tools.
• Experience with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, flooring, and carpet tasks.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills for interacting with customers and salespeople.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Some knowledge of computers is necessary.

Work Environment

The position is based in a clean and organized yard environment. The team focuses on one modular at a time, working either in a refurbished modular or one that holds the tools. Production typically takes 30-35 hours to complete a modular, aiming for one per week based on client needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Vacaville, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
