Quality Control Inspector
Join our team as a Quality Control Inspector with a leading metal fabrication manufacturer specializing in precision metal fabrication, short-run metal stamping, and tubular frame fabrication & assembly. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products, which include casings for cable boxes, electrical panels, and computer casings.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect Work In Progress (WIP), inbound, and outbound parts.
- Prepare First Article Reports.
- Create detailed and accurate reports of all Quality Control inspections, results, corrective actions, recommended preventive actions, trend analyses, and compliance to contract requirements.
- Effectively convey Quality Control results to management using technical narratives, graphs, charts, spreadsheets, photographs, and other means.
- Establish and manage Quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with the goal of continuous improvement.
- Lead measurement of Total Cost of Quality (TCQ) and identify opportunities to reduce it.
Essential Skills:
- Minimum of seven years of experience in a quality role, with significant time in Quality Engineering or Quality Manager positions.
- Experience in high volume metal fabrication manufacturing operations.
- Proficient in ISO-9000 with AS9100 systems.
- Working knowledge of core quality tools such as APQP, FMEA, Control Plan, MSA & PPAP, and CAPA.
- Ability to conduct first article inspections and read engineering drawings/blueprints.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including experience with 5 Why, Root Cause Analysis, and 8D methodologies.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- BS in Engineering or related industrial/manufacturing field preferred.
- Experience in mass production metal fabrication and sheet metal industry knowledge is a plus.
- Strong clerical skills with the ability to track multiple tasks and document critical information.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Hands-on and results-driven approach.

Work Environment:
Work in a machine shop environment from Monday to Thursday, 7 am - 4:30 pm, and Friday, 7 am - 11 am. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye and hearing protection is provided. The role involves working on the manufacturing floor with punching and stamping machines.
Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FORT LAUDERDALE, FL.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
