Job Description Summary: Multi-functional position, incorporating the performance of mechanic duties on various pieces of machinery and operating equipment.

Requirements:

• Experience working on construction equipment, preferably asphalt paving equipment
• Able to work flexible hours as required this includes overtime/weekends and holidays
• Able to work in a team environment with a positive attitude and must be able to get along with your co-workers
• Able to follow written and oral instructions
• Must have own tools up to " drive mechanical and pneumatic and other tools required to perform job tasks
• Must be able to stick weld mild steel as a minimum requirement
• Able to use cutting torches and all other shop related tools
• Able to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Hydraulic and electrical system trouble shooting and diagnostic skills required
• Basic computer skills for Excel based systems and/or OEM diagnostic systems
• Able to use hands and fingers to manipulate objects/climb ladders/work at heights/stoop/kneel/crawl/crouch and move objects up to 50 lbs
• Able to wear PPE as required to perform job duties safely
• Must have state issued drivers license for up to 26,000# vehicles
• Able to follow the safety policies of West Virginia Paving Inc./prime contractor and companies we perform work for

Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal efficiency level. Attitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, public. Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required. Out of town/county/state work may be required. Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion. Must pass drug test and background check.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Must provide own tools to utilize in position. 5 years experience working on construction equipment
