Job Full Description

Local Madison Heights custom sign making shop is seeking experienced Finished Carpenter whose core responsibility is to build crates and packaging for custom products made for clients by cutting, fitting and installing wooden materials according to specific measurements to fit product and shipping requirements.

Daily Duties include:

Read tape measure,
Use of various saws (handsaws, jigsaws, and circular saws)
Utilizing hand and power tools to assemble packaging
Perform other job duties as needed.

Items to be shipped are highly custom and can change daily, depending on production needs so attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal direction is required. Location: Madison Heights, MI

Position type: Full time, long term

Shift: 2nd Shift Monday - Thursday 2:30 AM - 3:30 PM with overtime as needed

Pay: Starting at $18-20/hr. Based on Experience

An Ideal Candidate will possess the following:

Basic knowledge of measuring tools such as tape measures, rulers, and meter gauges.
Basic knowledge or hand carpentry tools
Ability to read and follow written instructions and blueprints.
2+ years of finished carpentry experience
Experience using handsaws, jigsaws, and circular saws, along with hand and power tools
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
