Commercial Electrician

Description

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Commercial Electrician to join a growing and stable electrical contractor supporting commercial and industrial projects throughout the region. This role is ideal for a dependable electrician who takes pride in craftsmanship, prioritizes safety, and can work independently while collaborating with a skilled project team. In this position, you will be responsible for electrical installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance across a variety of commercial and industrial environments. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, a solid understanding of electrical codes, and a professional approach to jobsite communication and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installations and daily electrical tasks independently on commercial and industrial job sites
• Install and bend conduit, including EMT, Rigid, and PVC (½"-4"), using hand, electric, and hydraulic benders
• Install wiring, electrical panels, lighting systems, and associated electrical components
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems and equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes
• Adhere to all safety standards, including proper use of PPE and lockout/tagout procedures
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other trades to ensure efficient project execution
• Utilize electrical testing equipment to identify and resolve system issues
• Communicate professionally with customers, team members, and management
• Maintain accurate documentation of completed work, updates, and compliance requirements

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of electrical work experience; Journeyman Electrician license strongly preferred
• Commercial or industrial electrical experience preferred (candidates with 2+ years may be considered based on skill set)
• Experience with PLCs, controls, VFDs, and soft starts is a plus
• Strong ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings
• Proficiency with electrical hand tools and power tools

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr.
