Express Employment in Platteville has partnered with a local business to search for a candidate to support their business in a WELDER role located in Prairie Du Chein, WI. This is a full-time position.

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. This role is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding metal components according to specifications and blueprints. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a variety of welding equipment and tools, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform welding and metal fabrication using hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment
Fabricate, position, align, and fit structural metal components
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to plan layout and assembly
Position, align, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits
Tack-weld and secure parts prior to final welding
Operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, grinders, and drill presses
Use measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure accuracy and proper fit
Cut, contour, and bevel metal components according to specifications
Set up and adjust welding equipment, including gas flow and pressure
Clean and prepare metal surfaces prior to welding
Grind, chip, and remove excess weld, slag, or imperfections
Inspect finished workpieces to ensure they meet quality standards
Monitor welding process to prevent warping, distortion, or overheating
Move and position materials using cranes, hoists, or manual methods
Identify and report equipment issues or material defects
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
