CNC MACHINIST

Long Lake / Orono

CNC Machines: Mazak and Makino are a plus

2nd Shift 3:30 pm-2:00 am M-Th

Operates CNC machinery, including drilling, milling, reaming, boring and threading.

The CNC Machinist is required to secure work pieces onto holding fixtures to meet quality standards within established timelines.

Areas of Accountability:

Prioritizes and completes work for the shift. Follows daily work schedule as established by the CNC Mill Machinist Lead and/or Director of Operations. Verifies work is completed within the appropriate timeframe and quality requirements.*
Focuses on continuous improvement in the areas of machining methods and processes. Recommends changes when appropriate.*
Confers with Director of Operations, CNC Mill Machinist Lead and employees from other departments to confirm status of work and timelines.*
Performs all essential machining operations; interprets blueprints and related technical data.*
Assists Set-up Machinist in selecting and installing proper tooling; mounts, aligns and secures work pieces on holding fixtures; and maintains and changes work holding equipment.*
Assists Set-up Machinist with first piece, in process and last piece inspections to obtain training and experience in the inspection process.*
Assists Maintenance Technician in daily Preventative Maintenance on CNC Machinery.
Ensures machine shop is clean and orderly.*
Complies with all policies and procedures, including ISO, OSHA and AWAIR requirements.*

Job Qualifications:

At least one-year related experience in a machining environment and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Basic computer skills
CNC Machining Mazak and Makino
