Maintenance Mechanic

Position requires the ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs.

Ways you will make an impact:

• Disassembles, inspects, reassembles, troubleshoots, repairs and replaces malfunctioning parts or equipment (motors, switches, sensors, input/output boards, controllers, gears, sprockets chains, knives, etc. using test equipment and meters such as VOM, megger, amp probe and PC)
• Cleans, lubricates and adjusts guides, flap tuckers, sealing jaws, sensors, and timing for process systems of packaging equipment to improve efficiency, quality, or operation
• Performs routine preventive maintenance procedures as per schedule
• Installs change parts (pockets, flap tuckers, film folding shoulders etc.) on production machinery to run a different size, shape or product
• Reads blueprints, diagrams, programs/ladder logic and machinery manuals to diagnose problems, identify parts, and learn proper equipment operation
• Installs new equipment
• Actively seeks to find problems in assignment area and correct before the problem becomes critical with high supervision
• Communicates conditions of equipment by: completing appropriate maintenance records, transferring knowledge of conditions to incoming mechanics at shift change, and informing his supervisor of significant problems
• Displays cooperation by working closely with production personnel
• Improves work related skills by actively pursuing outside schooling or plant provided programs
• Performs other duties as assigned

Hours are 4:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
