Machine Operator

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating miter saws and shears to cut steel, interpreting and working from engineering drawings and blueprints, and conducting quality checks using precision tools such as micrometers and calipers. You will be required to execute work based on written instructions, manage and tape parts as required, and load and unload parts onto machines. Maintaining parts and equipment cleanliness, operating a forklift, and moving materials from inventory to the machine shop are also key duties.

Responsibilities

• Operate miter saw and shear to cut steel.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Conduct quality checks on products using precision tools like micrometers and calipers.
• Execute work based on written instructions.
• Manage and tape parts as required.
• Load and unload parts onto machines.
• Clean and maintain parts and equipment.
• Operate forklift.
• Move material from inventory to machine shop.

Essential Skills

• Experience in machine operation.
• Proficiency in operating a forklift.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Strong understanding of general production and machine operating procedures.
• Proficiency with tools such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and power tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude and a keen eye for detail.
• Experience with CNC operations and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work effectively in a cleanroom environment.

Work Environment

The position operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The work environment includes a facility equipped with advanced machinery, where safety and precision are prioritized.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
