company, is actively hiring and looking to double their fabrication team
over the next few weeks due to growth!
Metal Trades specializes in heavy steel fabrication,
OEM supplier for heavy steel components, power transformer tanks, ship repair,
barge/vessel construction, and is a supplier in support of building submarine
and aircraft carrier components for National Defense.

Pay:
Combos Welder/Fitters

• Day/Night shift = $25-26/hr + $150 per day per diem

Shift and schedule

• 4x10
• Day shift 6am-430pm M-Th
• Night shift 430pm-3am M-Th
• Overtime (6-8 hour shifts Fri/Sat and some Sun)

Fitter's Blueprint Assessment:
What you'll do: Structural Fitters will take a
blueprint assessment.

• Written test - Singular and/or 2-piece blueprint with 10 questions, will have to navigate through the drawings (all answer's will come from the drawing)
• I.E what is the dimension of piece mark 5 (will then look at the drawing and identify the answer)
• Must have ability to read a tape measure
• Must have ability to decipher between decimals and fractions and convert them

Weld testing information (FLUX CORE AND PULSE WELDING):

• 1st test - 3G Flux Core - 1 in plate
• 2nd test - 3G Mig Pulse - 3/8ths plate

*Everything is on backing bar* After it cools down then they will cut on the saw and bend (should be doing it during the process)

• Will be setting up their own machine
• Will be given scrap material to set up with and practice before they start if needed

Required
Gear/PPE:

• Welding shield
• Gloves
• Long pants
• Sleeves
• Boots
• Any additional welding tools that you have

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
