Job Description

As a Painter, you will be responsible for reviewing incoming jobs to determine workload and effectively staging the work. You will oversee the prep process, ensuring parts are masked correctly according to the drawing and maintain proper chemical concentrations in the wash system. Additionally, you will manage the settings on the powder coat booth to adhere to our processes and verify the conformance of finished parts to specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming jobs and stage work accordingly.

• Oversee the prep process to ensure correct masking of parts.

• Maintain proper chemical concentration in the wash system.

• Ensure correct settings on powder coat booth for process adherence.

• Verify conformance of finished parts to specifications.

• Perform routine quality checks on team members.

• Perform daily maintenance duties and report equipment issues.

• Maintain a clean and orderly shop.

• Maintain schedules for jobs and preventative maintenance.

• Track output to ensure production efficiency.

• Maintain a daily routine operator checklist.

• Meet weekly with the supervisor for updates and feedback.

• Comply with company policies, rules, and guidelines.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Experience in painting, paint prep, spray gun, masking, and powder coating.

• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.

• Skilled in troubleshooting and adjusting for quality powder coating.

• Knowledge of proper wash and cure steps in the powder coat process.

• Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• At least 1 year of paint experience in a manufacturing environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
