Job Title: Senior Field Construction Supervisor
Location: Denver, CO
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract
Pay Rate: $55/hr.
The Senior Field Construction Supervisor provides dedicated on-site leadership for major capital projects across power generation facilities, including coal, gas, and renewable energy plants. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of construction and overhaul projects (up to $100M) while supporting project planning with critical field-driven insights.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Execution
Lead daily field supervision activities, setting priorities and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and schedule targets
Coordinate contractors and vendors, aligning on access, logistics, and work sequencing
Monitor construction progress and proactively resolve field issues to minimize delays
Serve as the primary on-site liaison between contractors and project teams
Project Planning & Pre-Construction
Provide constructability input during design phases (30/60/90/IFC reviews)
Support estimating efforts including labor, equipment, logistics, and phasing
Assist in contractor bid evaluations and vendor selection
Develop and plan site logistics including layout, access routes, and temporary facilities
Scheduling & Resource Management
Participate in detailed schedule development and critical path planning
Assess and coordinate daily resource needs (labor, materials, equipment)
Proactively manage delays and implement contingency plans
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Execute and support quality management plans and inspection strategies
Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
Coordinate with QA/QC teams on testing, inspections, and commissioning readiness
Ensure adherence to regulatory and environmental requirements
Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions
Safety Management
Lead daily safety briefings and enforce strict safety protocols
Oversee high-risk activities and ensure compliance with LOTO and other safety procedures
Implement site safety measures including signage, PPE enforcement, and emergency response readiness
Material, Equipment & Logistics
Manage material delivery, storage, and inventory tracking
Coordinate equipment usage and ensure proper maintenance
Optimize site logistics to improve efficiency and reduce waste
Communication & Reporting
Maintain real-time communication with project stakeholders
Prepare daily logs and weekly progress reports
Facilitate team meetings and resolve conflicts in the field
Ensure accurate documentation for quality, safety, and project tracking
Qualifications
Required
7+ years of experience in design, construction, operations, engineering, or maintenance of utility systems or power generation facilities
Strong field experience with construction techniques, materials, and inspection practices
Demonstrated knowledge of industry standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Proven ability to plan work activities, including crew sizing and duration estimation
Experience with work packages, construction planning, and asset/work management systems
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
Track record of achieving operational and performance metrics
Preferred
Associate's degree or technical certification in a related field
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in a relevant trade
Informal leadership or supervisory experience
Understanding of utility finance and capital project structures
Additional Information
Expenses reimbursed on a project basis (no flat per diem)
Work may include rotating shifts and on-call responsibilities
Projects include major plant overhauls and capital improvements up to $100M
