Shop Mechanic

Diesel Technician - Contract To Hire

Location: Moorhead, MN

Pay: $23–$30/hour + overtime (1.5x)

Shift: Day Shift | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

About the Role:

Join a well-established shop focused on truck upfitting and customization. You’ll install pre-fabricated equipment onto trucks such as DOT plows, service bodies, dump trucks, toolboxes, and more. This is a hands-on role for technicians who enjoy mechanical work and problem-solving.

Responsibilities:

• Install truck attachments using hand and power tools

• Read and interpret blueprints and prints

• Install wire harnesses, lighting, hydraulic hoses, and final assemblies

• Eventually perform light fabrication and welding as needed

• Prep and apply paint for touch-ups and components

Qualifications:

• Mechanical aptitude and assembly/installation experience

• Ability to read blueprints

• Fabrication and basic electrical skills

• Able to lift up to 75 lbs and work on feet for extended periods

• Personal tools preferred

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
