Job Title: Industrial PainterJob Description
The Industrial Painter is responsible for the preparation of metal assemblies and sub-assemblies prior to the painting process. This role involves utilizing traditional spray (liquid and powder) and touch-up techniques to finish the product to the customer drawing and work order specifications.
Responsibilities

• Prepare materials, surfaces, and structures for paint.
• Apply coatings according to drawing specifications.
• Prepare, coat, and finish metal assembly surfaces.
• Utilize spray equipment to apply paint/powder finishes.
• Mix and apply epoxies, gel coats, powder coats, and urethane as per prescribed formulas.
• Adjust nozzles on spray equipment and monitor the flow and viscosity of the paint/powder solution.
• Use mil readings and monitor usage amounts.
• Perform preventative equipment maintenance to ensure apparatus remains in working order.
• Regulate temperature and air circulation in drying ovens.
• Initiate and maintain all applicable paperwork as required.
• Follow all safety standards and procedures.
• Utilize a Man Lift and safety harness features when working with large metal fixtures.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot defects and consult with other team members.
• Withstand exposure to industrial ovens in short time frames.
• Place and retrieve large metal fixtures into industrial ovens.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years' experience in industrial/manufacturing painting.
• Ability to read blueprints and other work instructions.
• Experience with spray and hand-held painting applications.
• Proficient at sealing/baking final exterior coatings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2-3 years' experience in manufacturing painting preferred.
• Understanding of the technical aspects of the job.
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures.

Work Environment
This position is in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels. Work primarily involves standing for up to six hours per day, with some duties requiring sitting for short periods. The role requires the capability to lift 0-50 lbs in an ergonomic position.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Binghamton, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.75/hr.
