Job Description
This role is integral to ensuring smooth business and production operations through the execution of daily maintenance tasks and special projects. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing, installing, and adjusting machinery and equipment, performing parts replacement, as well as routine and preventative maintenance.
Shift and Pay
ALL SHIFTS AVAILABLE
Pay: $28-$45/hr based on experience
Responsibilities
Perform routine preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment.
Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear.
Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment.
Work across all departments in a processing plant environment, which includes cold, damp conditions.
Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery.
Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
Provide emergency communication during non-working hours and respond to emergency call-ins within 30 minutes.
Maintain cleanliness by removing debris in work areas, work benches, and break rooms.
Ensure a safe work environment by eliminating unsafe acts or conditions.
Demonstrate proficiency in cutting and welding, hydraulics, filter systems, pipe fitting/plumbing, operations of shop equipment, sheet metal fabrication, pneumatics, electrical wiring, and motors.
Support Farmer Focus business objectives through additional responsibilities as needed.
Essential Skills
Proven industrial/manufacturing maintenance or electrical experience.
Knowledge and understanding of good safety practices.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Basic math skills.
Ability to organize tasks and oversee quality of work.
Proficiency in using common hand and power tools, precision instruments, and electrical/electronic testing devices.
Ability to work with or near animal blood.
Fluency in reading, writing, and comprehending English.
Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision.

The position is based in a poultry plant with a cold and damp environment, requiring adaptability to such conditions.

This is a Contract position based out of Pleasant Valley, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $45.00/hr.
