Structures Mechanic
The Aircraft Structural Technician will maintain, repair, and modify structural components of complex difficulty on L-382 / C-130 Series aircraft. The Technician will perform structural repair, fabrication, modification, and installation of parts by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' drawings/manuals. The role involves planning, laying out, fabricating, assembling, and installing repairs on both internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Perform aircraft structural repair, fabrication, modification, and installation of parts.
- Interpret technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' drawings/manuals.
- Plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, and install repairs on aircraft structures.
- Perform corrosion control, maintenance inspections, and service aircraft.
- Conduct phase and special inspections on aircraft structures and systems.
- Perform Service Bulletins (SBs) and Airworthiness Directives (ADs).
- Interpret inspection findings and determine adequacy of corrective actions.
- Check components for clearances, tolerances, proper installation, and operation.
- Update computer-based aircraft maintenance and inventory tracking system.
- Inspect, correct, and take preventative actions for corrosion prevention and repair.
Essential Skills
- Experience in aviation sheet metal and hardware installation such as rivet/blind rivet installation and HI-Loc installation.
- Knowledge of common tooling required for performing aircraft structural work.
- Structure experience with C-130 heavy maintenance.
- 4-6 years of experience in aviation sheet metal and structural work.
- Ability to work independently with little to no direction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Responsible for making repairs on the chine cap located in the wheel well.
- Experience in heavy aircraft structures with 4+ years of sheet metal/structures work.
- No license required and no tools needed.

Work Environment
This position is based in a hangar work environment, working alongside other mechanics. The role requires flexibility in working hours, starting at 6:30 am for 8-hour days, with the possibility of transitioning to 10-hour days. While efforts are made to avoid weekend work, candidates should be open to occasional weekend shifts. The second shift is likely from 2 pm to 10:30 pm.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.07 - $33.07/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
