Aircraft Maintenance Leader
This position is located in an Air National Guard aircraft maintenance inspection organization. The primary purpose of this position is to lead three or more journeyman Aircraft Mechanics, crew chiefs, and specialist personnel. In addition, performs journeyman duties involving the inspection, repair, modification, and servicing of aircraft systems, components, and assemblies for both on- and off-aircraft.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment.
- Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Qualifications:
Military Grades: E6-E7 Compatible Military Assignments: 2A5X4
General Experience: Experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's skill in and knowledge of the work; ability to lead others, to organize tools and materials for them; and to interpret technical orders, regulations and procedures.
Specialized Experience: Must have twenty-four (24) months experience, education, and/or training which required the applicant to acquire and apply each of the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities: In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and lead the work of others in fields directly related the repair function of this occupational series. Must have the ability to perform administrative functions; to read and interpret a variety of technical publications used in the repair of supported equipment. The ability to provide guidance to others in work related directly to this occupational series.
Education: If you are using Education to qualify for this position, you must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
Additional information: If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency.
