Frame Mechanic

As a Frame Mechanic, you will be responsible for an array of tasks including frame straightening, alignments, suspension repair, brake repair, and general frame work and repair. You will also work on trailer straightening, and install, fabricate, and repair truck accessories such as tippers, flatbeds, hook lifts, and plows. The role requires independent and team collaboration in the paint department, handling various heavy truck tasks including welding, body work/repair, panel replacements, prepping for paint, masking, sanding, patching, and additional duties as assigned. You will perform electrical wiring, welding, and grinding, working with hand and power tools to fabricate products, and engaging in hydraulic and mechanic work.

Responsibilities

• Straighten and align vehicle frames.
• Repair suspensions and brakes.
• Perform trailer straightening and frame work.
• Install, fabricate, and repair truck accessories, including tippers, flatbeds, hook lifts, and plows.
• Collaborate in the paint department on heavy truck projects.
• Conduct welding, body work/repair, and panel replacements.
• Prepare vehicles for paint, including masking, sanding, and patching.
• Perform electrical wiring and grinding tasks.
• Utilize hand and power tools for product fabrication.
• Work on hydraulic systems and mechanic tasks.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of mechanic or installation experience with industrial trucks.
• 1+ years of welding experience.
• Ability to perform electrical hookups on truck equipment.
• Hydraulic experience.
• Capability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Forklift experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Possession of own small hand tools.
• Must have own tools and tool box for shop use.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large job shop with multiple buildings and garages. Each mechanic has their own bay, and the environment can be loud at times, with warm conditions during summer months. Overhead doors are opened for better air flow, ensuring a comfortable workspace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of LAKE CRYSTAL, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
