Ordnance Equipment Mechanic
As an Ordnance Equipment Mechanic, WG-6641-10, this position is located in an Air National Guard, Combat Air Force (CAF) Wing, Maintenance Group, Maintenance Squadron, Munitions Flight. The purpose of this position is to provide munitions support to the state and designated agencies in support of their taskings. This dual status technician position requires military membership.
Duties include:
- Assembles/Disassembles, adjust configuration, performs maintenance/test & repair, handles and transports ammunition, rockets, unguided and guided weapons and countermeasures, demolition material, and other types of conventional ordnance.
- Independently troubleshoots electrical/mechanical faults of integrated systems by thoroughly analyzing operating trends.
- Performs Pre/Post Flight inspection and flight line return inspections.
- Assigns Weapon Stock Number (WSN) and records builds and teardowns of complete rounds in the accountable property system of record (APSR).
- Configures Munitions Material Handling Equipment (MMHE) for mission support.
- Manages allocations, stock levels, inventories, requisitions, and disposition of munitions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements include:
- National Guard Membership is required.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment of the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- Must be able to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain the necessary security clearance for the position.
- Military Assignment Requirement: Open to Enlisted members only.
- Military Rank/Grade Requirement: Minimum Rank SrA/E-4 to Maximum Rank MSgt/E-6.
- Compatible Military AFSC Requirement: 2W0X1.
- Applicants outside of the ORANG must submit documents showing award of AFSC.
Qualifications include:
- Experience or training which has provided the candidate with the knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices.
- WG-10 - Must have 18 months experience or training in repairing, rebuilding, modifying, and testing a variety of major subassemblies.
