Responsibilities
This position is available for 2nd or 3rd shift according to the collective bargaining agreement.
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, design, build, test, calibrate, adjust, modify replacement parts, and service various electrical and electronic equipment, including communication systems, radios, and radio-controlled cranes, gauges, measuring devices, ultrasonic and fluidic equipment, VDTs, PLCs, microprocessors, numerical and programmable controllers, as well as low and high voltage power distribution systems.
- Diagnose issues, implement solutions, and proactively work towards eliminating waste and failures. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure efficient installations and repairs, while maintaining equipment documentation integrity.
- Conduct and document preventative maintenance checks, inspections, and repairs.
- Utilize PLCs, microprocessor-based equipment, and computer software for equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and modifications.
- Program robotic equipment and maintain documentation of modifications.
- Perform necessary rigging and incidental welding, including lugs, welding brackets, panels to columns, and conduit clamps.
- Operate transportation and material handling equipment as required.
- Organize and maintain work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure clean and efficient operations.
- Develop, document, and enhance safe work instructions and procedures along with best practices.
- Employ reliability tools and information systems to gather, document, and analyze data and equipment performance to identify and address root causes of issues.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management systems to create work orders based on equipment needs, log work hours, document equipment condition and status, and requisition parts.
Base Wage: $41.85 /hr.
Additional Cost-of-Living Adjustment: $4.46 /hr. (in addition to base wage)
2nd shift differential: $0.47 /hr.
3rd shift differential: $0.78 /hr.
Earn 1 week of vacation after 6 months of employment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- A valid Journeyman's card OR 4 years of relevant maintenance experience along with a qualifying score on the assessment administered by Howmet during the interview process.
