Job Title: Machine Builder Job Description

As a Machine Builder, you will be responsible for constructing a variety of food-grade machines, ranging from large to small with many variations. Your role will include wiring panels and reading schematics to wire these panels. Additionally, you will be tasked with building crates for shipping the machines post-construction. Your responsibilities will encompass mechanical tasks such as assembly, small welding, using hand tools, following blueprints, and handling nuts and bolts, as well as electrical tasks including wiring, reading electrical prints, and panel installations.

Responsibilities

• Build various food-grade machines.

• Wire panels and read schematics for panel wiring.

• Construct crates for machine shipment.

• Perform mechanical assembly, small welding, and utilize hand tools.

• Read and follow blueprints for machine construction.

• Handle nuts, bolts, and other mechanical components.

• Install electrical panels and read electrical prints.

Essential Skills

• Experience in wiring inside panels.

• Proficiency in machine assembly beyond simple part assembly.

• Ability to read and interpret schematics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Welding experience.

• Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

• Experience with pneumatics.

• Machining skills.

Work Environment

Work on the first shift from 6am to 2:30pm. The facility spans 80,000 square feet, with 10,000 square feet dedicated to office space and 70,000 square feet to plant operations. The plant includes areas for legacy equipment storage, assembly, shipping, and manufacturing, with a cold saw prep area and a machine shop housing CNC machines and manual mills. The dress code is casual to business casual depending on the day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Haven, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $22.00/hr.
