Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the repair, replacement, and maintenance of aircraft components and systems.
- Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and diagnostic evaluations on aircraft mechanical and functional systems.
- Test, repair, and replace defective or malfunctioning aircraft parts.
- Interpret technical schematics, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and related documentation.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete maintenance activities.
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities comply with FAA regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Support airframe, powerplant, and/or combined A&P maintenance operations.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to meet operational and project deadlines.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Active and current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certification.
- Ability to successfully pass written, oral, and practical assessments.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Must possess reliable transportation to and from work locations.
- Must own and maintain required tools in good working condition.
- Ability to pass and maintain Class III physical requirements, including a hearing evaluation.
- Familiarity with technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and maintenance publications.
- Strong understanding of aviation maintenance practices and safety procedures.
- Experience working in an FAA Repair Station environment.
- Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience within aviation maintenance.
- Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, or military aviation programs.
- Prior experience with the U.S. Department of Defense or military aviation operations.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, if required.
- Frequently stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, and move throughout maintenance facilities.
- Perform repetitive hand, wrist, arm, and finger movements.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain visual acuity, including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and color differentiation.
- Ability to hear and distinguish various tones, sounds, and volume levels.
- Work may be performed in aircraft hangars, maintenance facilities, and outdoor environments.
- Regular exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other environmental elements.
- Frequent exposure to loud noise, aircraft equipment, fumes, and hazardous materials.
- Must adhere to all workplace safety regulations and procedures.
