Forklift Mechanic - 2nd Shift

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic for the 2nd shift with a start time of 9 am from Monday to Saturday, with one day off during the week. Some weeks may require a 6-day work schedule. This role involves maintaining spare part inventory, communicating machinery performance to management, and mitigating production delays due to machinery malfunctions. You will also coordinate equipment training, monitor equipment performance, and ensure compliance with various regulations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain spare part inventory.
• Communicate machinery performance to upper management and appropriate staff.
• Mitigate production delays due to machinery malfunctions.
• Maintain current knowledge of products and forms produced by each machine.
• Coordinate equipment training for appropriate staff.
• Establish and monitor effective sampling, recording, and analysis of equipment performance.
• Identify and analyze issues, defects, and other problems; recommend and facilitate solutions.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of forklift and material handling mechanic experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Expertise in hydraulics, electrical systems, power tools.
• Ability to perform repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
• Experience with material-handling equipment, MHE, and blueprint reading.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in diesel repair.
• Strong understanding of pneumatics and mechanical repair.

Work Environment

This role requires prolonged periods of remaining stationary and working on a computer, as well as moving around the production floor. You must be able to move and lift up to 60 pounds. Work is performed in both an office setting and on a production floor, which can include high noise levels, bright lights, cold temperatures, and stairs. The schedule includes 45-50 hours weekly, with weekends as needed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
