Pay Rate: $24 - $25/hour
Location: Humble TX 77396
Schedule: 12 hour schedule, 6 to 6, Day shift or Night Shift available

Position Summary
The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in both manual and CNC machining operations. You will setup, program, and operate a variety of equipment including CNC mills/lathes and manual VTLs. This role requires high technical autonomy to machine raw materials into finished components while meeting rigorous OEM specifications and tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Setup and operate manual mills, manual lathes, and multi-axis CNC machines safely.
• Programming: Program CNC lathes, VTLs, and milling machines directly at the machine console using G-code or conversational programming.
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T symbols to calculate precise part dimensions.
• Tooling & Setup: Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, attachments, cutting tools, and raw materials onto machines. [1]
• Calculations: Calculate proper speed, feed rates, depth, and angle of cuts based on material properties (e.g., stainless steel, titanium, aluminum).
• Quality Inspection: Perform first-article and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges to maintain tight tolerances.
• Maintenance: Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot minor programming or mechanical errors.
• Safety: Adhere to all shop safety protocols, maintaining a strict "safe-to-start" mindset.

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent trade school certification.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience operating both manual and CNC equipment in a precision machine shop.
• Machining Depth: Demonstrated expert-level skill on manual lathes, manual mills, and multi-axis CNC machinery.
• Math Skills: Strong working knowledge of shop math, including algebra and basic geometry.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods during shift operations.

• Prior machining experience machining in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Machinist certification preferred
