MANUAL MACHINIST

Are you a precision-driven Manual Machinist looking for a high-paying opportunity in the Baton Rouge area? We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team for a 6-month temporary assignment (with potential for extension) at our 70809 facility.

Pay & Schedule
Rate: $34.00 per hour
Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Standard Shift)
Overtime: Required as needed after 4:00 PM
Duration: 6 months (potential to extend based on performance)

As a Manual Machinist, you will set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce, modify, and repair precision parts and instruments. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanics, mathematics, and metal properties to maintain industrial machines and fabricate high-quality components.

Responsibilities:
Machining: Operate manual lathes and milling machines to carry out routine fabrication and repair tasks.
Precision: Interpret blueprints and geometric tolerances; utilize micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges for exact measurements.
Maintenance: Assist in the upkeep and repair of shop equipment to ensure operational readiness.
Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all HSE mandates and internal quality standards to ensure a safe, compliant work environment.
Collaboration: Maintain courteous and effective communication with the team to meet production goals.

Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Skills:
Verbal Communication: Uses clear and effective verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions.
Planning and Organizing: Works with guidance to plan, organize, and prioritize activities to efficiently meet business objectives .

Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Experience: 5???7 years of relevant machining experience (specifically with manual lathes and mills).
Skills: Proficiency in reading blueprints and organizing tasks to meet business objectives.
Compliance: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
