Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures by following established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines; inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures; observing and documenting signs of wear and tear; gathering capital expense information; recommending repair needs to eliminate ongoing and future repairs; determining replacement needs; and documenting preventive maintenance activities.

Performs major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment); inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues; dismantling equipment, machines, or facilities to access and remove defective parts; diagnose problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary; utilizing hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment; providing prompt response to emergency calls; and documenting repair activities.

Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing and providing required written and electronic information (for example, expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, maintenance logs); conducting price comparison of parts and travel related costs; ordering parts and replacement equipment and tracking orders; recording purchases and usage; submitting warranty claims; complying with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations and guidelines; ensuring quality work is completed that complies with federal, state, and local regulations; ensuring contractors follow Walmart quality standards, safety requirements, and meet contract requirements; identifying and reporting deficiencies; unloading and storing equipment; and transporting equipment between facilities.

Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.

Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; analyzing and applying information from multiple sources; monitoring progress and results; and identifying and addressing improvement opportunities.

Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices; implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems.

What you'll do... We are seeking a dedicated Diesel Truck/Trailer Mechanic to join our Supply Chain team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance and repairs on our tractor and trailer equipment. This role requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and attention to detail. Shifts Open + Sun u2013 Thursday 3rd shift + Tues u2013 Sat 3rd shift + Wed u2013 Saturday 1st shift Responsibilities: - Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair fleet equipment safely and correctly. - Conduct failure analysis, repairs, and rebuilds fleet equipment components. - Inform management about housekeeping opportunities, harmful working conditions, and unsafe work practices, and suggest corrective actions. - Identify and inform management of broken tools and missing supplies required for performing repairs on fleet equipment, and take steps to solve the issue if possible. - Complete complex work orders with proper coding (Reason for Repair (RFR), American Trucking Association (ATA)), description of condition, cause, and correction, including properly completing warranty return tags as needed. - Maintain a clean and safe work environment to ensure safety and compliance. - Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity. - Perform additional duties as assigned. • 2 years of experience in the plumbing trade.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Eligible for a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
