Wire EDM Machinist Pay: $28.00 - $29.00 per hourShift: Monday - Friday, 3:00 PM - 1:30 AMEmployment Type: Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Wire EDM Machinist to join our precision manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating Wire EDM equipment to produce complex, high-precision components while maintaining extremely tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will have strong CNC machining experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to lead and support other machinists on shift. Key Responsibilities Machine Setup & Operation Set up, program, and operate Wire EDM machines to manufacture precision components. Produce parts to exact specifications while maintaining tolerances below 0.0005". Select appropriate tooling, electrodes, and wire based on part requirements. Perform in-process inspections and make real-time adjustments to ensure quality standards are met. Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and scrap. Leadership Lead assigned shift operations and provide direction to other machinists. Support training and development of team members. Promote a safe, productive, and quality-focused work environment. Quality & Inspection Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T specifications. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment, including: Micrometers Calipers Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) Maintain accurate quality documentation and production records. Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to improve manufacturing processes. Equipment Maintenance & Safety Monitor machine performance and identify maintenance needs. Perform basic machine upkeep and report repair requirements promptly. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies and quality standards. Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience, including Wire EDM. Proven experience producing precision components with tolerances below 0.0005". Strong proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation. Experience working with: Tool Steel Titanium Inconel Other high-performance alloys Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Preferred Previous experience leading or mentoring machinists. Advanced troubleshooting experience in precision machining environments. Experience in ultra-precision or high-volume manufacturing operations.
